About the Edition

Sixteen frames on one wall, hung to a 40 mm gap in both directions, which is the detail the photograph is really about. The grid was set out from the centre of the sideboard below it rather than the centre of the wall — the room is asymmetric and centring on the architecture would have left the whole arrangement looking half a metre adrift.

Printed in the studio on a twelve-ink pigment press, on 310 gsm cotton rag with a matt finish. The edition is seventy-five. Every copy is signed and numbered on the reverse.

Supplied unframed and rolled, with a 25 mm unprinted border on all four sides, in a 90 mm tube.

The light across the rug is the whole reason to own this and it survived the print intact. I have it opposite a window and it holds up in daylight, which I did not expect from matt paper.

Second one I have bought from the studio. Consistent paper, consistent packing, and the numbering on the reverse is done by hand rather than stamped.

Lovely print. Four only because the leather reads slightly warmer than it does on screen — closer to the truth of the room, I suspect, but worth knowing before ordering.
